Welcome to Great Delight Private School! My name is Miss Opone Chika, and I am honored to serve as the Head Teacher of this wonderful institution.

My journey into education began with a degree in Banking and Finance from UNILAG, but I discovered my true calling was in shaping young minds. For over 12 years, teaching has been my passion, and every day brings new excitement, challenges, and the incredible privilege of watching children grow and find their path in life.

What brings me the greatest joy? Hearing about students who passed through our doors and made it in life. Even more rewarding is taking a child whom parents may have given up on and helping them become the best version of themselves. I tell every parent: "Don't worry, your child is in great hands."

At Great Delight, we believe that character plays a vital role in academic excellence. We teach three core virtues: Fear God, Be Intelligent (you cannot come to GDPS and leave the same), and Be Well-Mannered. A child may be intelligent, but without the right perspective on life, they can become ill-mannered. We focus on building both mind and character.

To every young person: stay focused, follow your dreams, and listen to instructions. To every parent: listen to your child, and never take the place of discipline away. Together, we will raise exceptional children.
